Placement Overview
A simple, standardized assessment for incoming high school students
The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is a standardized test administered to 8th graders that helps schools determine appropriate academic placement for students as they enter high school. The test takes approximately three hours to complete, followed by an essay administered after the standardized portion.
We also host a Prospective Parent Information Session during the first hour of the HSPT for parents and guardians. This session provides helpful insight into the admissions process and student experience at JPII.
HSPT results can be shared with any school that accepts the exam, regardless of where it was proctored. The cost of the test is $30, payable online through a JPII FinalSite account or via cash/check on the day of the test.
